At the beginning of the 1960\u2019s, Stelio Corva and his wife, Lotaria Rossi, started producing fabrics that were used to create shoes and bags.<\/p>\n
Having faith in their entrepreneurial spirit and intuition, they started from scratch, processing the first fabrics on fruit boxes.<\/p>\n
Stelio is a young civil engineer, while Lotaria is an artist; matching creativity and technique, and thanks to Stelio\u2019s imagination and great manual skill, the company begins to grow.<\/p>\n
At the beginning of the 1970\u2019s, they buy the first mechanic loom, in order to increase the production rhythm, whereas in 1980 the Corvas start working on the project that, maybe, is the one that most influenced the future prestige and success of the company: the rebirth of the gold thread velvet (allucciolato d\u2019oro<\/i><\/em> in Italian).<\/p>\n After several years of studies and research, Stelvio and Lotaria manage to recreate a fabric from the 16th century, the gold thread velvet, which used to dress the Venetian Dukes (Dogi) and people of the ruling class, and whose technique had been lost.<\/p>\n In the same good decade, Stelio builds a loom with his own hands, which is still the flagship of the company.<\/p>\n The clients and the prestige arrived soon, and Corva Velluti d’Arte started leading the textile sector, thanks to the ability of producing exclusive fabrics based on the ideas or original drawings of the clients, both in the furniture and fashion sector.<\/p>\n Throughout the decades, the company produced 1500 exclusive drawings on demand and approximately twenty original Corva designs.<\/p>\n In 2002, the company grows and buys some \u201cbacchetta<\/i><\/em>\u201d looms to increase the production of the existing looms.<\/p>\n The main feature of Corva Velluti d\u2019Arte, which has not changed over the decades, is the high quality of its fabrics, which are produced by the skilled hands of its expert weavers.<\/p>\n In the textile world each gesture is important. For this reason only after a long and careful training the weaver can start working at the loom, mechanic or manual.<\/p>\n The personal characteristics of a weaver must be passion and patience. Without them, it is impossible to succeed in this ancient, appealing and complex profession.<\/p>\n Based on this philosophy and thanks to its mechanic \u201cbacchetta\u201d <\/i><\/em>and \u201cdoppia pezza\u201d <\/i><\/em>looms, <\/i><\/em>Corva satisfies even the most refined needs of its clients.<\/p>\n The manual loom built by Stelvio Corva in the 1980\u2019s is still the best example of the talent and creativity of the company\u2019s founder. This loom, which is still used, was optimized with a combination of manual and mechanic elements, in order to facilitate and optimize the loom\u2019s work.<\/p>\n Today, Corva Velluti d\u2019Arte looks at the future and promotes innovation, always remembering its handcraft origins, which are at the core of its activity.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Nei primi anni Sessanta del Novecento Stelio Corva<\/strong> e la moglie Lotaria Rossi<\/strong> iniziano a fabbricare tessuti destinati alla pelletteria, per scarpe e borse.<\/p> Cominciano da zero, lavorando i primi tessuti sulle cassette della frutta, forti del loro spirito imprenditoriale e di alcune intuizioni. Sempre in questo fortunato decennio Stelio costruisce con le proprie mani un telaio a mano, ancora oggi fiore all\u2019occhiello dell\u2019azienda. Le commissioni e il prestigio non tardano ad arrivare e la Corva Velluti d'Arte<\/strong> si impone sul panorama delle tessiture grazie alla capacit\u00e0 di realizzare in esclusiva su tessuto le idee o i disegni originali dei clienti, sia nell\u2019ambito dell\u2019arredamento che della moda.<\/p> Nel corso dei decenni sono stati realizzati 1500 disegni esclusivi<\/strong> su commissione e una ventina di disegni originali Corva. Nel 2002 l'azienda si amplia ulteriormente acquistando alcuni telai a bacchetta per affiancare la produzione dei telai gi\u00e0 in essere.<\/p> La principale caratteristica di Corva, immutata nel corso dei decenni, \u00e8 l'altissima qualit\u00e0 dei tessuti realizzati che nascono dalle mani abili ed esperte delle tessitrici. Nell'arte della tessitura ogni gesto \u00e8 importante, ecco perch\u00e9 solo dopo una lunga e accurata formazione il tessitore pu\u00f2 avvicinarsi al telaio, sia esso meccanico o manuale.<\/p> Le doti caratteriali di un tessitore devono essere la passione e la pazienza, senza le quali \u00e8 impossibile dedicarsi a quest'antica quanto suggestiva e complessa professione.<\/p> Con queste premesse e tramite i telai meccanici, sia a bacchetta che a doppia pezza, Corva soddisfa le pi\u00f9 diverse ricercate esigenze della clientela. Il telaio manuale costruito da Stelvio Corva negli anni Ottanta resta per\u00f2 la sintesi dell'ingegno e della creativit\u00e0 del fondatore.
